The Big Deer That Didn't Get Away
I know what you are thinking… This is going to be another hunting story that is hard to believe, but you might want to finish reading before you write me off. Last year I was hunting in my cousin's corn field when out walked the biggest buck that I had ever seen. I pulled up my used gun, a winchester 270, that I had bought on a gun auction online, and shot that deer in the woods at almost 300 yards. Now granted the trees werent that thick and the deer wasnt running or anything like that, but I still think it was a pretty good story.
Piano Lesson: Learn To Play Amazing Grace
Amazing Grace for piano is a popular song on the internet. In this piano lesson we will learn to play this song with melody and chords without the use of sheet music. We will start by finding the note C.
The note C on your piano is found on many places on the piano keyboard. C is always to the left of two black keys on the keyboard. Let's find the middle C on the piano.
The middle C is often called C4 as it is in the fourth octave of an ordinary upright piano or grand piano. It is sometimes called the keyhole C as it is at the same horizontal position as the keyhole on some pianos.
In this piano lesson we will call it C4 and the C to the left of this note we will call C3 and so on. We will now continue this piano lesson by learning the song Amazing Grace. Let's take a look at the lyrics to the first verse:
Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me
I once was lost, but now am found
Was blind, but now I see
We will play this song in the key of F-major. You don't need to know exactly what this mean but it still is in F-major anyway.
We will start with the first line:
Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound
Here is the notes to play to this line:
C4 F4 A4 F4 A4 G4 F4 D4 C4
In this piano lesson we will use a type of piano tab that doesn't indicate the length of the individual notes. You will probably figure out this by yourself as you know the melody!
I feel confident that you are able to do this!
Let's continue with the next line:
That saved a wretch like me
C4 F4 A4 F4 A4 G4 A4 C5
We will now take a break in this piano lesson and amuse ourselves with three piano chords that you can play with your left hand as you play the melody with your right hand.
The first piano chord is called F-major or just F and it is played with these notes in this song:
F: C3 F3 A3
The next chord is Bb-major. It is played with these notes:
Bb: D3 F3 Bb3
What is the note Bb3?
Well, the ordinary note B3 is immediately to the left of the note C4. Bb3 is the black key immediately to the left of the note B3. Okey?
The third and last chord we will use in this piano lesson is the chord C7. It is played in the following way:
C7: C3 E3 Bb3
If you want to use these chords in the song I recommend that you learn them by heart first. Now we will continue with the piano lesson.
I once was lost, but now am found
A4 C5 A4 F4 A4 G4 F4 D4 C4
We finish this part of the piano lesson by playing the last line of lyrics.
Was blind, but now I see
C4 F4 A4 F4 A4 G4 F4
Our piano lesson on Amazing Grace is completed as far as the piano melody is concerned but if you want to use your left hand to play the chords as you play the right hand melody you'll find the bonus text here:
I will notate the melody as I did before but at certain places among the notes I will place the piano chords you already have learned after a slash.
When you see a note with a slash and a piano chord after it you are supposed to play the note and the chord at the same time.
Here is the Amazing Grace melody with piano chords:
C4 F4/F A4 F4 A4 G4 F4/Bb D4 C4/F
C4 F4/F A4 F4 A4 G4 A4 C5/C7
A4 C5/F A4 F4 A4 G4 F4/Bb D4 C4/F
C4 F4/F A4 F4 A4/C7 G4 F4/F
That's it! I recommend learning the Amazing Grace melody with or without chords by heart. You will then have access to it whenever you will find a piano or keyboard to play.

Isn't it amazing what an artistic hand can do with a few pieces of paper?
Anything, from beautiful 3D flowers to scrapbooks that preserve the life-stories of families for generations to come, can be designed from such a simple and basic material. An even more amazing fact is that an art using such basic materials can be downright expensive! If you're like me, you're always open to new ideas of how to save a few bucks.
Let me share a few dollar saving tips with you.
1. Save – don't toss
Christmas, birthdays and holidays are a bonanza for the paper crafter. One of my favorite items to save is cards. I create gift tags and even small gift boxes from these often-tossed greetings. Next time you're gathering a mound of wrapping paper to throw away, take a second look. Does it have potential? Save yourself a bundle, and store some of it away.
2. Ebay
What in the world isn't available on ebay? "Wanna be" crafters are a dime a dozen, and often their failure to stick it out becomes a boon to the hard core crafter. When they get tired of storing supplies they know they'll never use, you're in luck. Keep a sharp eye out for these purging ex-crafters, and be ready to cash in on your good fortune!
3. Spy those deals in disguise
There's an old saying, "Never judge a book by its cover." Well, if you've priced photo albums, you know that covers can be pretty darned expensive. The real value of an album is indeed in the cover. A great way to cut costs is to buy an inexpensive album, throw away the inside pages, and fill it with your own pages fit into plastic sleeves. Instead of paying $30.00, you'll spend maybe $10.00. Watch for ways to convert less expensive products into the material you need.
4. Bulk up and swap
We all know that buying in larger quantities usually saves us money. The next time you go to Sam's Club and spy a product that you only need one of, go ahead and buy the bulk quantity. Invite your crafty friends over, and swap these items for things they have an abundance of. Trade your way to a savings.
5. Get the freebies
One of the greatest expenses for crafters can be patterns. Those who don't buy patterns usually purchase crafting magazines for fresh ideas. Why not get online, and find free patterns? There are a number of sites that catalogue patterns for your convenience. When you need a fresh idea, join a forum where others who share your passion are ready and willing to share their ideas.
Paper crafts are amazing works of art that can bring joy to the creator and a sentimental tear to the eye of the receiver. Such a beautiful art doesn't have to empty your wallet.

The Amazing Hubble
In the history of modern astronomy, there is no-one bigger jump forward than the building and launch of the space telescope called the Hubble. An extraordinary piece of astronomy trivialities that few folk know is that honestly, only about 10 % of the universe is plain using standard systems of observation. For that reason, the Hubble truly was a big jump forward. That is for the simple reason the Hubble can operate outside the atmosphere of Earth.
Trying to make important space exploration through telescopes from the earthly surface of planet Earth is really hard.
That exact thing that keeps us alive, our own Earth's atmosphere presents a major distraction from having the ability to see deeper and further into space. The Hubble space telescope was named after the great scientist and idealist Edward Hubble who discovered the universe was expanding which was explained by what's now known in science as Hubble's Law. To actually get an understanding of the extraordinary achievement that was achieved with the launch of the Hubble telescope, spend a while on Nasa's site devoted to the project at http://hubble.nasa.gov. It's difficult to credit how long the Hubble has been orbiting earth and sending back superb video and footage of what it is discovering in space.
But the Hubble was really at first launched on Apr 25th 1990. It was actually the fruits of literally decades of analysis and construction which began in 1977. Expectancies were high as the orbiting telescope was put in place and really started to function as it was engineered to do. All wasn't always perfect with the telescope and the early footage were displeasing.
After some study NASA discovered that the explanation for the early disasters was the curvatures of one of the main lenses of the orbiting telescope. In 1993 a new lens was installed on the Hubble which corrected the issue of picture resolution that was spotted in the early operation of the telescope. 2 other fix and upgrade mission have been made to the Hubble since it launched, both in 1997 to upgrade older hardware and to retrofit the telescope to increase its helpful life thru 2010.
It's pretty superb to believe that this systematic and mechanical wonder has been operating now for 10 years without upkeep. We are able to be sure that plans are in the works for NASA to upgrade or replace parts on the Hubble to extend its helpful life even further as that 2010 time period draws closer. It is tough to imagine the science of astronomy or the natural search for larger awareness of our universe without the Hubble.
We'll always have to have a collection of eyes in the sky to observe the universe and discover more of its perplexities.
